Saquon Barkley had already cemented his place in Eagles history with an unforgettable first regular season. But this moment, this touchdown, will forever be one of the greatest. As Saquon himself admitted, it’s his favorite touchdown of his entire football career, a journey that dates back to his childhood.
As a fan who attended this game and witnessed that incredible run firsthand, I felt compelled to create this piece. The aura of the moment, the timing, the crowd’s deafening roar, and the snow falling, it was all unforgettable. And as we later learned, Saquon called this touchdown before it even happened. He locked eyes with Jalen Hurts and said, “Watch this.”
That’s why I titled this piece “House Call.” From the moment it happened, I knew this moment had to be immortalized. I poured more effort into this painting than perhaps any other piece I’ve created to be able to complete it in under 1 week because I was so inspired to share it with the world.
The details in this artwork tell multiple stories. Front and center, Saquon is captured mid-stride, breaking into his iconic “crazy arms” running celebration. But look closely, and you’ll see the teammates who made this moment possible. Every one of the 11 starting Philadelphia Eagles offensive players are in this piece: A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, Grant Calcaterra, Dallas Goedert, Jordan Mailata, Cam Jurgens, Lane Johnson, Landon Dickerson, Mekhi Becton, and, of course, Jalen Hurts.
In this moment, Hurts stood with his arms raised, signaling the touchdown before it was even complete. Lane Johnson, famously confident, put his head down and walked off the field, knowing Saquon was gone. Calcaterra laid out and slid across the snow in celebration. Behind them, over 60,000 Eagles fans roared with pure energy.
